CertainTeed's Landmark PRO Awarded Good Housekeeping Seal for "Reliable Roofing"

CertainTeed announced that Landmark® PRO was named the winner in the Reliable Roofing category of Good Housekeeping’s 2025 Home Reno Awards.

Good Housekeeping’s evaluation process involved more than 10,000 hours of hands‑on testing, including lab performance, safety, durability, and real‑world use trials.

In the lab tests, CertainTeed points out that Landmark PRO shingles have a Class 3 Impact Rating and are built with a double lamination (two laminated layers) combining a fiberglass base and protective outer layer.

CertainTeed also says their full residential roofing shingle portfolio (including Landmark PRO) has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal more generally, which they present as validation of the durability and reliability of their full product line.

The roof over your head is no place to cut corners. It’s the first line of defense against lashing rain, pounding hail and the like — plus, it’s an important visual element, adding to your home’s curb appeal (or detracting from it, as the case may be!). CertainTeed’s Landmark PRO is a multilayered architectural shingle, delivering extra protection to your roof as well as the added dimension and shadow effect of traditional wood shakes. The shingles are available in more than 20 colors, from black walnut to silver birch.

Laboratory Results

Performance tests in the Lab confirmed the Landmark PRO shingles’ extreme durability. Our remodeling experts also noted that the shingles should be easy to install thanks to the strike zone for fast, effective nailing.

For good measure, our engineers also reviewed CertainTeed’s extensive third-party testing and certifications, which include a UL Class A fire rating and ASTM Class H wind rating, designating it as a high-performance material for safety, weather resistance, and longevity. The shingles also have proven impact resistance, essential for those who live in regions prone to hailstorms. And if you live in a damp part of the country, the Landmark Pro’s built-in algae protection will ward off unsightly black streaks.
